hi folks,
hope all's well in your corner of the world. it's been a while since i've had a chance to circulate an update. there's been a lot of momentum gathering through the end of the year.
new things first. woodhall music has released my second instructional DVD called banjo improvisation. you can buy it on the woodhall site and at elderly instruments. bluegrass unlimited just printed a nice review of it here.
my brand new website launches february first, complete with a blog, new music and a documentary film about my travels in africa. you'll get a taste of what's to come on my upcoming album, a collaboration with griot singer and kora virtuoso mansa sissoko from mali. the album is set for a july 2008 release and will include special guests bassekou kouyate (ngoni) and casey driessen (fiddle).
the african project will be on tour this summer in canada and next fall in the united states. keep an eye out on my website's calendar, but in the meantime, a look ahead:
