LAST POST OF THE YEAR..!

Posted by GShannon on Monday, December 31, 2007

Well...it's been another year, near as I can tell. For my money, it's been a pretty durn goodun'. Mary and I got married in August . We snuck off to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, met Kenny and Rosie - our buddies from Broken Arrow, OK - and indulged in a utility beer and red meat orgy of legendary proportion. There was much snickering and a great many lousy jokes told. We didn't tell out kids, parents, or friends. when necessary, we actually lied through our teeth to pull off the event un-noticed. We had the party on August 18th to try to surprise our friends and family. The event was dubbed  the
E-Maculate Reception following the E-Maculate Deception. We remaim married to this day, and look forward to many years of youthful bliss.

Our next CD will be out shortly after the first of the year, with any luck. Three or four more sessions and it's esentially done - except for the mixing and mastering and other little details. The Players turned in magnificant performances - thanks guys and gals..!

Mary has written several new songs this year, raising the bar even higher than before. She is amazing. We need to continue in the studio for a good while to get this stuff recorded. I've written a few five string numbers, and a couple of new guitar waltzs. We're considering an instrumental CD soon. We'll get a chance to preview some of the newer stuff at the Mid-Winter festival in March here in the great north. Ain't it funny that we have a "MID-WINTER" festival in March? No, actually, that's not really so funny when you think about it. To quote our banjo picking buddy, Jim Tordoff..."But it's a DRY cold"..!

Here's to the New Year. May we all do absolutely everything in our power to try to bring peace, health, and harmony to this ailing planet. Let no one distract us from the goal of healing and making this place clean, safe, and prosperous for ourselves, our children, and all who follow us.

PEACE, PEOPLE, AND THANK YOU FOR A GREAT FIRST YEAR AT THE HANGOUT. WHAT A NICE SITE, AND WHAT A GREAT GATHERING OF LIKE MINDED FOLK....

Music that remembers it's roots, and is written and played the old fashioned way....BY HAND..!

Features the playing of just a few of Geoff and Mary's many friends (Deb Sorensen-Boeh, Lincoln Potter, Pete Mathison and Rick Anderson).  Woo-hoo!
