When I got out of the Army at the brash young age of twenty-six I would tell everyone that I was basically just on my way to Australia, a line I borrowed from a Western Comedy, "Support Your Local Sheriff." Anyway, I dreamed of Migrating to that faraway land, then came the job, then I got married, and by the time I was thirty I wondered if I would ever get out of Louisiana. I never thought much about Australia through the years and needless to say, I never made it there, even for a visit. But when I first got my banjo, before I even strummed a passable bum-ditty, I woke up one morning with the tune to Waltzing Matilda in my mind and couldn't get it out, So I picked up my banjo and picked out the melody.
Fast forward to today, I wanted to get this up,as it is one of my favorite tunes. Unfortunately my fingers are wrapping around themselves and my banjo has developed a new sound (something like a duck call). so I'm going to post it under the title Waltzing Mistakes, and then try to find that duck and get rid of it. Later this year I'm hoping to have a new version that is at least passable.
