I didn't figure I would write another blog so quickly. I always have way too much stuff to talk about when it comes to banjos. Okay, I am the only one I know around here that plays and likes bluegrass. I have been trying to convince my family that they need to get into it so I can have jam buddies. :) I bought my daughter a mandolin but the school offered her to get in band about 2 weeks after that. She is playing saxophone so the Mando is just sitting there looking really sad. I got my son a fiddle because he said he wanted to play. He is 9. He has been in lessons for about 3 months and he isn't really that passionate about it. Today will be his last lesson. I think if someone doesn't have the urge to pick it up then they need to find something else. I just bought him an electric guitar for Christmas. He is more of a rocker. My husband doesn't have an urge to play any stringed instruments. My sister and law, also my best friend, told me last night that she just bought a fiddle on Ebay. She is thinking of joining the "Other Side." Woohoo! She told her mom what she did and now her mom, my mom in law, is getting a new guitar. Hey! Whatever floats her boat and makes her want to start playing again. Then, my other sister in law heard and said that she wants to play something. I have my fingers crossed that at least one will actually follow through with this and play with me. haha I sound like a kid who is dying for a buddy. I guess I am.
My best new news is that I have started working on my banjo tattoo. Yep, I am going to get a banjo on my ankle. I have been dying to get one and there aren't many already made up. If you go to any tattoo website and type in banjo, you will get Zilch! Why is this? There are a ton of guitars and everyone knows that banjo players are way more crazy and eccentric than guitar players. I am surprised that there aren't more banjo images on those sites. So, I am kind of drafting up a rough copy and will get my tatttoo artist to put her finishing touches on it. By the Way, my tattoo artist is a daughter of a famous local Bluegrass band member here in Texarkana. Small world, huh? She said that she is allergic to banjos so maybe she can sit through this task!

It is my mission to "Convert" or "Annoy." I haven't figured out which one yet.
