Well today it finally sunk in that my statistics exam is a mere 2 weeks away. This class has absolutely done my head in - I've always had a bit of an aversion to anything that remotely involves mathematics. The good news is that we did a "mock exam" a few weeks ago and I found out today that I scored 77 out of 100 possible points on it - definitely a passing mark, so hurrah! The bad news is that all this studying and revision clashes with banjo playing and I'm so easily distracted once I pick it up. I'm a terrible one for picking it up to play "just one tune..." and two hours later I'm still plucking away! I was headed up to Dublin last weekend and nearly missed the train because I just wanted to run thru one of the tunes I was working on "real quick..." Anyway I'm trying to solve the banjo vs. my education dilemma by scheduling specific times to study and specific times to practice. I had my seventh lesson banjo lesson this week, got two more tunes to work on and also some different variations for last weeks tunes. Okay, gotta go, "Geantrai", a great trad music programme has just come on the telly and this week they're featuring the Cobblestone, a great pub in Dublin where I've spent many enjoyable nights - actually got "locked in" there once yeaers ago with a few pals - there was a session going on and all the musicians stayed on too. When we finally staggered out at 5:30am they were all still playing!
