Hi, Austin, I think thats a good choice, but for that kind of money you ought to look into a Yates banjo, they are made here in NC up in Hickory and they have such awesome power. Go to the web site and there are some clips you can here of them, there is his standard model, and the Donnie Little signature model, and now he is building a new Ron Stewart edition, man these banjos sound awesome, and they are about the same price or maybe a little cheaper than the Golden Wreath, check em out and good luck with your picking.

Great Choice Austin! It sounds a little spendy for a 14 year old, but, there is nothing wrong with buying quality. I'm not familiar with Yates Banjos, but I did go look at the website. They look like nice banjos.
I've seen a few Golden Wreaths show up on the classifieds. Maybe you can snag yourself a bargain. I'm sitting here with a Golden Era on my lap that I bought here on the BHO. I love the sound of this Golden Era.
Austin, You have good taste!
