Starting to get the frailing thing down for old timey tunes in 4/4 time. want to start working on irish trad. any advice? have started to learn the tunes in ken pearlman's "basics of clawhammer". tunes are nice. the open string pulloff is new to me but if you listen to him do it its just a strike with a left hand finger, having the finger positioned on the string in advance for a slightly softer sound.
am not enjoying his tab. he puts the marks in between lines rather than on them (i find this less intuitive).
