Bluegrass music is all that I listen to my whole life. Since 1982 it's been a huge part of my life, simply because my uncle took me to every Bluegrass Festival in East tennessee. Growing up in East Tennesse played a major role in my bluegrass career. I have played with several local bands around home, but my favorite was Valley Grass Express from middle TN. We loved playing contest, out of 100, we came in 1st place 95% of time. I played with them for 3 years before a good friend called me, telling me about Tim Graves looking for banjo player. I called Tim, set up an audition, and got hired that night. This was my first pro job, I played with them for about 2 years. Not too long after that David Parmley called me wanting to know if I knew of a bass player, I said no. 30 min later he called me back, ask if I could play bass, i told him once in jam session years ago. He said he was in a bind that weekend, I told him I would help him out if he wanted me. Needless to say that's how I got that job playing with Continental Divide. I played with them for 2 years. I met my wonderful wife ( Becky Efaw) playing on the road with Continental Divide. We were married 11/22/03. We have 2 precious babies. Chris is 3 years old. He loves Bluegrass more than anyone. He carried his insturment around all the festivals. When I get dressed to go on stage, Chris makes sure he outs on his suit. Kendra is 1. She loves to sing. When I start pickin or she hears music, she starts dancing. I believe my kids truly love the misuc. Becky & I are expecting another baby in march (Lil Bit). I currently play with several bands. The Bluegrass Mountaineers, Coney Carver & New Favorite. If you see that any of these bands are playing somewhere, please come see us. I love Bluegrass music, but my family is my life! I love the simple life!
