Yep, after ca. 41 weeks and two days (i.e., a little over a week past due), Carmen's and my son was born on 11 Oct.:

Specs: 10.0 lb (4.54kg), 21.75 inches (55.2cm)

Poor Carmen! We went to the birthing center three consecutive days and tried to get labor to happen, but, while she had contractions, she wasn't dilating. Then, on the 3rd day, she began dilating but stopped having contractions. after a day of this, the midwife finally took us to the hospital for for pitocin induction. They had no sooner started the IV drip than her water broke, and contractions began in earnest!

After a very uncomfortable night, Benjamin Radcliff was born at 05h39 on Thursday, 11 October.

Needless to say, we are all delighted! He seems to be a very sweet baby with no axes to grind!

His middle name, Radcliff, was my father's maternal grandfather's surname. He was the only other member of my family to have any musical interest, insofar as I know. In fact, I still own and play his ca. 1890 S.S. Stewart!
