Fred: This past June, I was in Ohio for a college reunion. Knowing the opportunity probably wouldn't present itself again, I took it upon myself to take a couple of extra days and drive down to Louisville to pay Bill a visit. My wife took the photo of Bill and me that I posted on my HO avatar from that visit. He and I had been doing business for almost 30 years and like you, every time I had a question, he answered it, not as a businessman but as a friend. My visit at First Quality was wonderful. Bill was gracious enough to take me around the shop and show me all the tools he had invented and the sophistocated processes they use to build banjo parts. For a guy like me, it was a dream come true. I got a chance to meet all the guys and ask them specific questions I had, especially about some finishing problems I had been having. You can't believe how accommodating they were. When I learned from my good friend and neighbor, DJ Morgan, a Banjo HO regular, of Bill's passing, I was stunned. I really felt I had lost a brother.
