We made it down and back to and from Winfield. If you haven't gone to this one, GO.. ! It's as good a picking festival as there is in the world. National championships for Flatpick guitar, Fingerstyle guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Mt. Dulcimer, Hammer Dulcimer, world championships for Autoharp, and a fiddle and songwriting contest without a title. Best pickers in the world. Our friend Ross, who plays mandolin with us, added up the ages of the top three mandolin winners - AND THEY AREN'T AS OLD AS HE IS...!!!! AGES COMBINED..! The little rascals have NO reservations about handing an adult his/her hinnie on a world class stage, either. Be very afraid.
We had the time of our lives, though, AGAIN..! To quote Terry who quoted Pete...IT IS OUR MECCA, AND WE MUST GO. We'll be there again next year too. And the Next. And the next. Our friend Kenny Cornell won another category in the song writing contest again. That was way cool. Mary and I do several of his. I've begun to write with him a little lately as well. My honor entirely. He's a writing god to us.
I have another tune almost ready to put up - FISHING IN THE COI POND. Stay tuned for that. Glad to be back in one piece .
Peace..........

Geoff,
I looked for your camp over in the "grove", couldn't find it. It was the usual Winfield event, great pickin', on and off the stage! We got lucky and played on stage 5, front porch radio, and the "sing in the can" at chicken train camp! Good times, good times..........
