Hi to everyone! I wanted to let those of you who live in northern California know about a few upcoming dates that I'll be playing with Nashville fiddler Megan Lynch. We'll be playing a lot of new tunes and things not usually heard with our regular bands. Here are the show details:
September 17: Berkeley, CA: Le Bateau Ivre, 2629 Telegraph Ave., 7 p.m. For further info phone 510-849-1100. Admission is free.
September 19: Emeryville, CA: Strings, 6320 San Pablo Ave., doors open at 7:30 p.m., music begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $5. 510-63-5700.
September 22: Gilroy, CA: workshops, BBQ dinner, and evening house concert sponsored by Duane Campbell. 10245 Parrish View Drive, Gilroy, CA. (408) 892-9157
Come join us for a day of music and fun with a jam workshop, BBQ dinner, and evening concert. The jam workshop is for upper level beginning players and above. Bill and Megan will discuss jam etiquette, exploring vocal harmonies, using a capo, blending singing and playing, developing good backup skills, choosing good song material, and much more. Take your jamming to the next level! This is a “hands on”, bring your instrument, and let’s pick kind of session that’s going to be informal and fun – but intense! You’ll get the chance to put to use what you’ve learned right in the session itself. As of 9/13, there were only one or two spaces left for the workshop and the evening concert is close to being a sellout, so make your reservations now for these events.

1:00-3:00 Jamming Workshops, Level 1 & Level 2 $30 per person (limit 10 per workshop)
3:30 BBQ, Santa Maria Tri-Tip w/Pesto Pasta, LJB Sweet Corn, Dick’s Beans, and Gilroy Garlic Bread, $15 per person.
5:15 Opening with Angelica Grimm & Friend.
6:00 Concert - Megan & Bill, $15 / $10 Workshop attendees.

September 23: Chico, CA: Bill Evans & Megan Lynch, Chico World Music Festival. Set times are 11:30 am and 3 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Finally, as part of the national promotion for my new book Banjo For Dummies, I'll be in Sebastopol for an in-store mini-concert and book signing event on Tuesday, September 25th at Copperfield's Books. Here's the lowdown on this free event:
