This weeks effort features my new Deering Calico and my wife's $310 mando. Nearly 6months of learning now and I'm beginning to *almost* feel what it must be like to play proper Scruggs style - like a machine gun Janet Davis says... (mine sounds more like a rusty Gatling gun missing a few barrels and being turned by a wounded soldier :-( Ah well.. one day maybe)
General comment after 6months:
Every now and then, and *just for a few fleeting moments*, (not on this recording it must be said), and mostly when I'm sort of relaxed the notes in the rolls just seem to be exactly in the right place. I can't say my RH is relaxed though and I wonder if it should be - there's a certain "tenseness" in getting the strings to sort of pop instead of ding. Very difficult to describe. It's a great feeling just for those few notes then - doh all gone again...

Hey Partick, don't lose hope, just keep picking. Hey, is your dog a doodle? Looks like our Golden Doodle. Ozzie
