I am new to this site, I an trying to date my Gibson RB250 can anyone help please the serial number is 690068
i think it is late 1960s or early 1970s any help would be much appreciated

Also, photos are a big help....there's a lot of differences between "late '60's" and "early '70's" RB 250's
Is the number on the back of the headstock, or inside on the rim, is it continuous (as you wrote it) or are there any dashes (-) in the number?

Sorry I am new to this site unfortunately my banjo has just gone in to be re-fretted so can’t post a picture at the moment, the number is on the rear of the headstock and it is continuous 690068 soon as I find a photo of my 250 I will post it here it’s not the bow tie inlay.
