I got an old Goldwing this spring for a really good price and have been doing little things to fix it up as I used it for a daily driver. About 2 1/2 weeks ago, just before I was going to trust it on a trip across state, it conked out. The starter quit working. Well, after it layed up for a couple of weeks, waiting for me to have time, then for me to order new starter brushes, etc, I got it running again.
The next day , it was raining, so I took the car to work. Then yesterday on the way to work, the clutch lever got loose and the clutch started failing, so I took it home, and drove the car again.
Last night, I opened the resevoir for the clutch, and it was very low. I filled it with the appropriate fluid, and it worked great. So I started the bike and let it warm up.
Then I noticed it started dripping antifreeze from the water pump area.
The riding season is short enough in Wisconsin without all this down time. You can bet that next year, all the maintenance will be done before the season starts.
