The idea of the practice group is to be a place for those beginners and intermediates currently engaged in deliberate practice and striving to improve their banjo. Or alternatively anyone who wishes to offer advice. No 'stick in tbe mud' my way or the highway types, open minds only.
The practice group is open for anyone to join, no approval required.
Click the link, then next to The Practice Group, click "Join Group".

Outstanding. Will you please add me also?
Some other names that should be in the group, unless they object:
It's too bad that groups can't be open (anyone can join or leave any time). That would keep the workload down for our membership department.

Hi. I am now having trouble accessing the groups bit on the forum. I think it must be a technical issue.
There is IS an option to make the group completely open. At least there was when setting it up. If that is the concensus I will change it if possible.

I have now found I can get in via the link I have created, and the links created by Eric in group related posts. I have altered the settings and the group is now open.

I cannot find a way to add members. I think you have to request to join yourself.

I have altered the link to go to groups rather than the page. There should now be a big "Join Group" button.

Thanks, great idea! Now we won't miss posts and have to look for them.

Each person must join individually. No one can add you to the groups membership.
On the left hand side of the page click forums, then groups. At this time the practice group is the newest so just click on join group. A window will open that says you have joined. Click Save and you're in.
I'm not sure if I joined or not, I didn't click save, I just wanted to make sure how one did join before I gave out any information.

I've put some posts in the forums to advertise 'The Practice Group'.
Once all us regulars have joined I will put in a post where we can discuss what sort of format we'd like the group to take. It would be pointless if for example all it did was double up what we are doing in blogs.
You must sign into your myHangout account before you can post comments.
