Ok, I DON'T have to be playing in everyone's film (but I sure like to be). On occasion, I just happen to be around recording some great music.
Just such an occasion came up last week (8/18) when Geoff Shannon announced at his party that he and his lovely misses - the delightfully talented and charming Mary Henderson - had indeed, tied the knot!
We all feigned shock and amazement (well, I did anyway) as Geoff proceeded to show us rings and photos verifying the event. As if that wasn't enough, he next produced a tremendous feast of BBQ pork, beef and turkey to herald the occasion. It was party time!
Gatherings at Geoff's are always fun. Lotsa food, friends and especially, music. it wasn't long before the instruments were out and we were into some serious jamming.
Here's some footage of Deb Sorensen-Boeh (fiddle), Rick Anderson (banjo), Lincoln Potter (guitar) and Pete Mathison (bass) crankin' out some great bluegrass early in the evening.

Next came Debbie doing one of her new numbers, The Grass is Greener on the Other Side.
And last, but certainly not least, Lincoln Potter demonstrated his driving guitar rhythm and high lonesome tenor with Little Maggie. You can even see the romantic old persistent chicken his'self (Geoff) standing in the doorway behind Pete.
No, I don't like just being a bystander. But when the music is THIS good, I guess I really don't mind that much!
