I'm not threatening to do a video yet!
But any idea what sort of software I should use to produce a video?

You can always use the standards for your computer... Movie Maker for Windows... iMovie for a Mac. I splurged ($50) and picked up Cyberlink PowerDirector for my PC... Been pretty happy with that so far
