I always wished I could run a marathon. I once "ran" sixteen miles but the last two were more of a walk. I hit the wall and could hardly move after fourteen miles. I had to go the last two miles to get back to my car.
Anyway, good luck! And, know that my hat is off to you for being able to even contemplate performing such a feat.
Now then, perhaps if you carried your banjo and played some spirited music, you might even be able to run faster.

You did a 3:21 on your first marathon? That's awesome!!!
Even though you might say you're only going to do one, most people get sort of addicted and end up doing a bunch of them.
I did a 4:14 on my first, a 4:49 on my next, and a 4:39 on my most recent. The last two were very hilly; that's my excuse. Being 53 might have something to do with it, of course, but maybe I just haven't trained hard enough.
Good luck in October!

Kalle - I did my first 2 marathons at ages 50 & 51 - 3:21 is a great time, I was over 4:00 on both!
Good luck with future marathons!

Did you win the Stockholm race?
Best of luck winning Växjö.

I didn't win the Stockholm race, LOL...I finished 897th or something. I nearly won the class I entered in last October in Växjö, though (it's a small, local race!). I finished in 3 hours 7 mins a few minutes behind the winner of the amateur class. In a few months it's time again for Stockholm...it's a tougher race than Växjö, but since I keep improving my times I hope to if not break 3 hours so at least set a new PB. Well see...
