Happy New Year everyone!

I'm excited to be playing music with a new stringband called the Galax Bogtrotters with Eddie Bond, Bonnie Bond, Eric Hill and Carl Jones. We went into the studio December 27th and recorded some great music: from driving stringband tunes to sweet song-duets, a gospel number and both original and traditional tunes from southwest VA and beyond. Next we'll mix it and soon we'll have a CD called Old-Time Jubilations that lives up to it's name! Four of us played banjo on the project and it was my banjo recording debut! The band is working with wonderful engineer Joe bass Dejarnette in Floyd, VA. If you'd like to support our new album please consider pre-ordering a CD on Indiegogo. p.s. Eddie's other band the New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters is still going strong and playing lots. This group - the Galax Bogtrotters are going to Australia and China in 2017 which is pretty exciting! That's one reason why we are making this CD to share with you and then take down under and to Asia. Yeehoo!

Congratulations on the new CD. I have enjoyed all of your music. I lost track of your plans for this one in the holiday haze. It sounds like a great one. I will get to the Indidgogo site tonight to take a look. BTW I learned "Old Christmas" on the banjo largely based on your earlier recording. Great tune.
