Hey John -
Hope the trip was good.
Was wondering what you'd advise as best shop, conference, festival or other venue to see and play a wide assortment of banjos for early stage shopping. Would like to play everything from old Gibsons to Yates, Hatfield, Huber, Bishline. Nowhere around these parts (northeast) seems to have that range of inventory. Any suggestions?

Elderly Instruments in Lansing Michigan has the biggest selection of anyone on the Eastern half of the nation, that I am aware of. Where are you in the 'Northeast"?

NYC is not so great for stores and such for banjos, at least to my knowledge. The busking and intermittent banjo player happens but I have yet to find a good/great store or random jam session while in Manhattan. I live upstate and would have loved to catch your visit.....Bernunzio's and Stutzman's in Rochester are fabulous stores with good selection and user-friendly service. I, too, have enjoyed Elderly and these can certainly rival, if not surpass, their 4 and 5 string selection. House of Guitars is not so great for banjos but an interesting venue, nonetheless.
