Glen Carson's work is truly amazing. I'm honored to have made a head for such a beautiful new banjo.
I can't wait to hear it in Russ' capable hands!

Hi John, Just saw this post! Thanks for the kind words, and also for the super fine head! It looks and sounds really great. I strung the banjo up and have played with string gauges and a few bridges, and its sounding good, I'm happy with it and think Russ will have fun with it. Best regards, Glenn

Was that the banjo that Russ played at the Charm City Bluegrass festival with Ricky Skaggs this past weekend? Ricky talked about the banjo that Russ's dad Glen had made for him.

Yes Banjov1, Russ was able to get to our house Friday to pick up the banjo in between jobs. He sat in with our old timey band that evening and played a few tunes on it with us and then played it for the encore Sat night with Ricky in Baltimore. Funny thing John Balch, Russ had the banjo sitting out toward the front edge of the stage, and it had started to rain lightly. Your skin head sure had its first live test in the elements! Seemed to work fine, and Ricky loved the whole thing including head when he played it earlier that day.
