Well things are begining to click now.

Well after three lessons with the new teacher adn about 2 hours a day of pratice. I have learned the 1st part of Cripple Creek at about 100 bpm. I am working my speed up on the second break. Its got a few strange parts I am still trying to grasp. I am finding out that with pratice I can open a book and look at the TAB and recognize the song alot easier and quicker. I am finally convienced that I will be able to learn this darn thing. Hope all continues at the current pace. Chris

Congratulations. The more you learn, the faster it comes together, makes it worthwhile. The beginning is the hardest but once you get going it takes off from there. I've been playing       2 1/2 months now and played Will the Circle Be Unbroken, I Saw the Light, Cripple Creek and a couple of others at a jam yesterday at a pretty good pace, but I practiced 8-10 hours a day 2-3 days a week for the first month. I was fortunate to have the time to do that. Cripple Creek will be second nature before you know it.
