I did it last week, a 10 K-ish moment. Yea!

  Hi BHO friends.

Just to keep us all on the same page, last week, I managed to run around the indoor track of the place where I do my physiotherapy stuff, 143 times. Hold on now, It's not as impressive as it sounds, but, for me it's just the thing I'm aiming for.

The distance one needs to run upon that indoor track, in-order to do a mile, is 23 times around.

So lets do some math, 143 times around the track, divided by 23, equals 6.2173913 miles, or as we say in Canadian style talk, 10.005921 kilometers.

Now all I have to do, is make it happen regularly, with a better running form, and time, (lifting and placing the feet perfectly) so that I'll have a fighting chance of making it to the finish line of the 10 K race coming this May 16 th.

I tend to do this running stuff in the traditional, "Bare Foot" style, so not dragging my toes, or making blisters because of sliding the foot/s along the ground, is important to keep in mind.

I'm taking some videos of the physio-ing I've been doing, hoping to soon do some kind of inspirational film montage for our collective enjoyment . . . . Yes, there will be banjo music, so I'm warning you to paddle faster, now!

       Have some great holidays folks.

Yes Mr David, I feel like I'm on the right track, . . . . ooops I think that an unintentional pun just happened, Thanx for having a moment to look in.
It's nice to hear from you.
Be well, and do some holiday hugging of your friends and family if you have the chance.

Hold on: 23 laps to a mile? That's 75 yards/lap more or less. Assuming the track is square, that's just under 19 yards per side. That's a small track. It also means you have 92 turns per mile; turns slow you down, unless the track is banked. When you run a 10k outside, you'll have very turns, and they'll tend to be broad and gentle. You should do much better in May.

Hi Mr Lefty. It seems as if you're from Winnipeg too, thats great.

The place where I'm taking my physiotherapy stuff is in the building right behind the Fort Garry hotel, 83 Garry st. The one with the revolving restaurant on top.

Your intuitive visualization of track space is good, it is quite a small indoor track.

Thanx as well Mr Lefty, for the encouragement about the future, I'll do my best to show that it takes more than a truck to the brain to stop a banjo playing fool.

To answer your question about which race Mr Lefty, here is a link to the race's page.
There should be all the info you'll need to know, about what's going on in May.
Have a great day.

It looks like it will be a great race, starting and ending in Assiniboine Park. Weather permitting, you should have a terrific day! Best of luck!!

I thought your video of physiotherapy was awesomely inspiring. That should encourage someone who needs it. Running the actual race is a concrete goal you'll achieve. You've already won!

Thanx a lot Mr. Doug, very kind words you've given me.

I'm just trying to share some of these moments I have had, incase they are helpful to someone else who may stumble upon them.

Hopefully their (other folks) situation/s won't seem too bleak, they, (other folks with challenges), will see others can find ways out of their difficulties, so there is hope for them too.

I'm not saying I have all the answers, . . . mostly I've got questions, I find by keeping these correspondents happening, I find a way out of the dark places.
