Halloween Night 2015.Some towns in Texas have no banjo players. The Newest music store in San Angelo,"Back Beat Music" had electric open mic last night where the affecionados of amateur metal gathered to enjoy. This store has a few banjos for sale."We can't sell them here"I was warmly welcomed, being a total stranger,as well as a hill billly banjo player. When my turn came,I coached the board sound man to cut the reverb and boom produced by the head.I got a semi acceptable mic sound, quickly adjusted by backing off the set up.A lively beginning of "Cross-Eyed Frog" did the trick.I could see metal melting into hicksterism.A few more tunes and I was done.Yea,man, they were stoked to get back up and tear a new hole in the veil. The silver bullet banjo boy rode off in the bliss of metal mania in the distance........

If you're ever in San Angelo again and want to find bluegrass music, contact Randy Blackwell or Ricky Rogers. They'll know where all the acoustic/bluegrass music is. If you happen to be there early April, there's a great festival to go to, lots of jamming and good music, food, too!
