I am very fortunate to be able to travel in Europe with my family and play lots of music. At the moment we are preparing to head south to a nice bluegrass festival in LaRoche sur Foron in the French Alps. Both my daughters, 3 grandkids, wife, and a couple friends from Minneapolis are making the 6 hour journey for a week of Bluegrass and touring. We will be joined by our great friends Lluis Gomez, Fred Simon and many others. Everyone is looking forward to some great jams and good times.
It is a special honor to be an American musician in attendance at European festivals. There is a very high level of musicianship and I am especially impressed with the high entertainment value of all the shows I have seen. All the performers are sure to give you a full spectacle with humor and lots of movement on stage. The best part for me is the that the body of common jamming songs is the same on both sides of the ocean. Making new friends is easy and people are always willing to play.
My dream lives on as it is played out in my life. These times are what life was made for I would say. Being musical, social, and interacting with people from different lands is one of the best things I can think of doing. Indeed it is my major hobby as well as being part of my work. I see myself as a living example of what a banjo and a bit of adventurous spirit can be. It is the resulting memories and friendships that weave a rich life that is connected with so many others'. You reading this are certainly part of this web. The music you choose to make goes farther and deeper than you think when you share it internationally. Happy picking! Tom

I'll be in France next spring, with my Marc Horowitz signature Old Time banjo.... (and I must say, the Nechville stuff on this great collaborative banjo is awesome!) Really looking forward to playing some music on it with players there.
