I am happy to announce the release of my interview with Jens Kruger. This is the third in my series of interviews with my banjo heroes- Butch Robins, Sammy Shelor and Jens Kruger are the first three....... wonder who will be next?
Jens kept me and my crew spellbound as he told stories of his early life in Switzerland, the way he began playing banjo, his trips to America, his friendship with Bill Monroe and many other things. I have watched this interview many times and each time I do, I find myself spellbound.
Part 2 of the interview may be especially fascinating to folks who have already watched my Butch Robins videos. Possibly fascinating partly because Butch and Jens are very very different kinds of people but both used the same words to describe Monroe- a visionary. Both men had a friendship with Monroe but it seems to me that he was like a different person to Butch and Jens. I think it is not any of an exaggeration to say that Bill Monroe was a complicated man and the glimpse Jens provides us in this story certainly points to that.
Please, watch this interview. Please enjoy it and please share this link with others.

Bud, that was superb. I have never heard an interview of Jens before. Apparently, there is no need to ask questions because Jens already know what he wants to say - all you need to do is stay out of the way! Really enjoyed it.

I always edit myself out in these cases, you don't want to see our hear me! Actually I sent him the question ahead of time, then just before we filmed I showed them again and he was pretty much on his own with just a little guidance from me!

This should be posted on the Fans of Jens Kruger Group page. Very interesting guy, and brings banjo into the 21st century.
