Its about 12 months since I started playing, and I've developed MBS (Multiple Banjo Syndrome ) ...lol
So I now have a Recording King R36 Madison - Deering Goodtime and a Washburn B14 - the latest two I found in 'Gumtree' at a very reasonable price, hardly played, I find the Deering handy to pick up quickly because its so light ( no Tone Ring ) but it sounds terrific, and easy to play - the Washburn B14 has been sitting in the sellers wardrobe for abut 5 years, not a mark on it, its 5/8 deeper pot than the RK-R36 and sounds good with new strings so I have been having a lot of fun ... but now I'm wondering if you guys use any special Backing Tracks to play along with.
I've just got a Large Speaker USB MP3 player, come Public address system which has great sound, easy to use, just pop the USB in the top and away she goes, I've recorded a few tracks from the TEF Library here, which is handy cos they can be slowed right down and I get to choose what instruments I play with on the Multi Track versions.
So do you guys have some special place that you go to find backing tracks to play along with ? .......... cheers

Hello, Phill. Quality backing tracks are certainly difficult to find (BIAB just never has been quite suitable for my taste), but you can find some good tracks from Layne Publications, laynepublications.com/banjo/bluegrass and Bluegrass Backing Tracks, bluegrassbackingtracks.com/
Happy pickin',
Terry

Hi David, the days just don't seem long enough, I've started to do some recording several times now, but it's like I've got a Death Ray trained on me if I stumble ..... lol

Yea Phil, that's a good explanation. LOL. Must not be an actual death ray but the red light does tend to immobilize us beginners. Maybe we need some of the special "Sunglasses" like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones used in the movies.

Well I have been following Banjo Ben Clarke and I am impressed by his Banjo Site, Tutorials, Videos, Backup videos for most of his tutorials, he seems very dedicated to his instruments and there is a wealth of information there, thoroughly recommend it for Beginners, Intermediates, everyone, he is a bright young man ...Very Impressed !
Its well worth a months subscription to evaluate his site ! - his attention to details is impressive .
