the latest news: this morning while doing an online search, I happened upon an identical (actually better) maple Ome Juggernaut at Folkway Music in Ontario, Canada.
I bought and should have it in a few weeks.
I will certainly be posting photos....

Dan,
Glad you found it before I did. I would have wanted it too.
I was an OME dealer in those days and wish I had kept one for myself.
I've got a 2006 OME Phoenix that will compare to anything, and I've got about 15 others in the high-end category.
Will be receiving a 2014 Celtic 50 this week that should be nice also.
Congratulations on your find.
Regards, Mike Mason, Montgomery, AL

Thanks Mike...Ome is by far my favorite maker these days....I used to only have eyes for the old Juggernauts, but I have a growing appreciation for their newer offerings, like the Omega....some really beaiutiful instruments, especially their open-backs...

Hey Dan... congrats to you! You're a guy who knows what he wants and hunts it down. Speaking of hunting... you haven't switched from archery back to banjo now, have you? :) Maybe you could use old Gibsons as targets?

Thanks!
Haha...I'd NEVER shoot a banjo with my bow....I'd probably get nightmares if I didn't get hit by lightening.
Nope...still doing some archery...I switched back to shooting compound.
But I'm spending a little bit more of my free time with my 5-string. Having a blast learning clawhammer...

Yeah, I had to wait one month for them to do some lacquer finish work.
It just left Lenexa, Kansas this morning. I looks like it might pass through Colorado, it's birth state! Janice, you'll have to come by and check it out when it arrives!

Just past Laramie, Wyoming...there's a good chance it did pass through Boulder, CO, where it was made 41 years ago.
Estimated delivery date is this Wednesday.
