I delved into poetry some years ago and enjoyed it. Recently having begun writing, and starting a fiction novel, I feel the urge to try poetry again.
This is much influenced by my book.
Hope's Recital
the words they dance
sometimes a foxtrot
sometimes a waltz
and attempt a ballet on occasion
the river flows
the moon illuminates
the tree shades each
tender kiss
the sun
creates ashes from the remains
and hope
if it is allowed
manages the sun and the stars
in our heavens
it breathes life
and raises from the dead
those precious
those dear
those loved
and tames the wicked sun
into a dream
into a song
by which we all
may dance

You might have seen this, and might not.
I certainly enjoyed writing it and many liked it, which was amazing to me.
