Went Carlsbad ca. to the making music museum to listen to a banjo player named Dan Levenson. I guess he has been around awhile but being new to banjo world had never heard of him, he is a fiddle player and clawhammer banjo player .He put on a wonderful show and entertained the crowd with amusing stories.of his past . If you get a chance go see him play. The Making Music Museum had a wonderful display of old and new banjos

The old-time music world is alive and well internationally, especially in the States. That's great you got to see Dan. He's very active here on Banjo Hangout. Perhaps you've already contacted him. Are you learning clawhammer or picking style?
