I snagged this 1972 OME XX openback (sn.: 62) on ebaY. It appears to be all original (except maybe the tuners which are period gold plated replacements). This model has an early Silver Spun tone ring - similar to the no-hole Bacon & Day silver bell design.
It needs a good set-up and hide head. But I can tell is is a real dandy!

I had one--a tremendous banjo, but it became redundant. Sold it to Pastor Harry; now in the possession of K E. It will fit in at least some tenor cases--making airline travel much easier.
