Company's gone, and we had a great time. Lots of food, lots of laughs. Phoebe the dog was fun and enjoyed being able to run outside. She also managed to knock over the bird cage this morning, but the birds seem fine and I am certain that Pheobe won't ever try that again--scared her to death.
Yesterday my niece Emily and I popped into the local bead store for a few minutes. When we entered, we were greeted by a 14-month old pale gold retriever. She had a beaded collar that said her name was Windy. Windy is a jumper. I don't mind dogs. I don't. But why do shopkeepers (and we have a few in town) think that their customers don't mind having their pets jump up on them? There's a beautiful gift shop in town, and the owner there always has her dog there. He's something with a mop coat, a komodor or some such. And he's a crotch-sniffer. That dog makes me think twice about stopping into that shop.
Enough of a rant. Got some outside playing time in yesterday, but I am so tired today I didn't even think about anything but a nap when the kids left, and supper when I woke up. The rest of the family is dozing now, and I am not going to wake them. I'll make up time tomorrow.
