After a couple of years of a casual, relaxed recording schedule, mandolin player Billy Bright (Tony Rice and Pete Rowan, Two High String Band, Danny Barnes, and Wood and Wire) and I have completed our duo mandolin/banjo record, Bright Munde. I have always been a big fan of the mandolin and banjo sound stemming from the fantastic example of Dean Webb and Doug Dillard on the early Dillards recording up through my time touring with the great and wonderful Roland White in the New Kentucky Colonels and Country Gazette.
Without having the sounds of a guitar, bass, fiddle, or Dobro, our playing (mine for sure) is exposed in a way that it never has been before. We had to listen and be very careful not to step on each others music making. I am happy with the results.

Indeed, it's a piece of art!
Elly and I like it very much.
