Whoooo hooo! I got me a Kalamazoo!
For years I've wanted a Kalamazoo KG-11. Passed up too many opportunities. I was in a meeting when this auction ended, but I put my cousin in charge and he came through. And I now own a Kalamazoo. Just what I needed: a nice, funky old 1930-something guitar.
I won't get it until Clifftop's through. But when I get home, I'll have a Kalamazoo. Whooo hooo!
I'll play it for a while then have Steve @ Elderly do a nice set up on it. I've been meaning to work a little more on guitar (for those rare times when there are just too many banjos about and I don't feel like playing bass). I need to dust off those Riley Pucket licks.
Carl from Eaton Rapids had his nice Martin O-18 at Evart, and that is pretty close to the perfect old-time guitar for my money. The Kzoo KG-11 is probably a close second (and maybe even a first in my book--I just love 'em, love 'em, love 'em).

If you've got to give the banjo a rest, I guess this is the perfect guitar. I love those old Kalamazoos.
