Just a short update. All my treatments ended this past Tuesday! Now it's a waiting game for some healing and testing in about six weeks. I have noticed a great improvement in my ability to swollow especially since radiation therapy was completed. Radiation did nothing but inflame the esophagus. I have a great GI Doctor that kept my esophagus open so I could eat.
So now the answer to my question: When is a sandwich a sandwich? When was today! Bread is one of the foods that I have not been able to eat over tha past four months. Kinda turned into doughballs and got stuck in the esophagus. Today I was able to eat a small BBQ pork sandwich and then a hot dog...both tasted great!!!!
Thanks again for your prayers, thoughts and words of encouragement. You don't know how much your support meant to me during my treatments.

Im' sure you must be relieved to have the treatments over and to be able to eat comfortably. I hope the follow-up tests show taht everything has been taken care of. You have definitely been in my thoughts a great deal. I am glad to hear that things are going well.
