Not much takes my mind off of banjo playing these days, but this time of year, a pilot's thoughts turn to airplanes.
I live in Fond du Lac Wisconsin, 12 miles south of Oshkosh, which hosts the biggest airshow in North America at this time every year. My place of employment is just about 3/4 mile northwest of the departure end of runway 36 in Fond du Lac, and I can hear the increased activity already. I'm looking forward to a week filled with airplanes and airplane noises and pilot talk, etc. etc. and I will be trying to find that little bit extra time to practice the banjo too.
I wonder if there are other banjo playing pilot's and if any of them are going to Oshkosh this year?
As my instructor once said "always land with the wheel side down!"

As an aircraft buff as well as banjo player, I am green with envy at your being so near Oshkosh! I bet they are louder than a banjo at times!
