Boy was I an excited young lad these past few days! I recently met Mr Jose Luis Gomez a banjo, fiddler, mandolinist (Argentine) from Buenos Aires who recently bought my Goodtime Crow ( yes sadly it is gone) time to move on...
he came over and I played a bit of mandolin and he bluegrass banjo, beyond which I then pulled out my Pisgah fretless and he his old fiddle and we jammed the evening away over some hot empanadas and cold "Brahma" beer. This was a first for me, in all the time playing the banjo, being able to jam with somebody here in Argentina. he has a good repertoire of music as well.
Sadly he had to return to Buenos Aires ( a 4 hour drive ) today, but he'll stop by every now and then when he can.....and hey, I made a great new friend!

Yeah I would say so...I kinda found him by accident. His first love is bluegrass ( he plays bluegrass banjer ) but he picked up the fiddle a year ago. He's extremely talented. He's an ex coronel in the Argentine military and also plays pretty good harmonicer ( he played the harmonica while I played the banjer....it was like heaven )
the only flip-side - he lives 4 hours away :(
