THE ROLLING THUNDER MEDLEY

Posted by GShannon on Thursday, July 19, 2007

  • I've added a medley of two tunes here, both written in the wee hours during thunderstorms (if you can call Minnesota's weather events actual thunderstorms - I grew up in Kansas so I have my own ideas about that). We did have a dandy thunder event here a couple of weeks ago though, and I got out my swell little mini-disc and set it on 'fetch' and got this doosie of a storm recording. I stuck the tunes into it. The first one is called Crop Tour and the second one is called Dogs at Noon. Mary plays guitar on the second one, but the storm sort of drowns it out - frequency overlap issues I suppose. I play both on the Dojo, bless it's pointed little heart. I do love that thing. I'd be interested in all opinions (I think). I hope the storm behind it isn't too cheesy, but I sort of thought is was appropriate since storms inspired them both in the first place. Like I said, I actually recorded them earlier and stuck them into the storm recording, but if I  get too much whining about how the dubbing ain't no part of old time, I'll do us all a favor and shoot them off the site pronto. But hey - LIFE IS SHORT..! And storms do tend to get my  juices flowing for some mysterious reason. A flatlanders tendency I bet.
