I really wish there was a way to block certain users on the Banjo Hangout. Just so I didn't have to see their abrasive posts all the time. There are a couple of people on here right now, and their posts are so rude and arrogant that my blood pressure goes up everytime I see them on the forum. I have typed a couple of equally rude responses and then deleted them at the last second, because I just can't bring myself to sink to their level.

If you think members are breaking rules, please contact a moderator and let them know. Sometimes we don't get to every thread on the Hangout. There's a contact moderator button on every thread.

they told me rudness was allowed as long as it was connected to an opinion on my music, as long as no one flamed me,but they could not give an answer on what flaming was.Check out the guy on my latest vid,I'll fly away,i don't care about him giving his opinion but he sure as heck could be more civil with it, maybe he gets off on being that way.i wonder that he might be a coward on the street, if i was in charge he would have been gone a couple years ago.you don't have to be rude to criticize, i have found if i bide my time and bite my lip and they hang around i can usually nail them, and they go away.good luck ---Tom

Something that might help is applying the rule of 'ad hominem'. If I post that person's video "sucks" then that is a valid, if certainly crude, opinion. If I post that "*You* suck" then that is about the person posting the music, not the music, and is a personal attack.
Maybe ask Eric if he could apply that rule.

You carry on being wonderful you, and try not to feed the trolls.

Thank you all for your comments. He has not attacked me personally, but he is just very rude and abrasive every time he comments on a post. Unfortunately I think he is always within the rules of BHO. There is no rule against being a jerk that no one likes. I just try to scroll past his posts when I see them. There are too many great, nice, helpful people on here to let one fly in the ointment ruin it.

That is true. This why I rarely comment on the forums. Jerks seem to like open forums, the music posts seem to be relatively immune to them, except, unfortunately Mr. Manners's posts attract one idiot in particular.

Mmm... Hey, I never got a chance to go watch Mr Manners videos until tonight. The one you guys are referring to seems to be gone now. Anyhow, some people just don't have any manners.

Yes, that was me. It's on my oldtime string band page. I would love it if you could post a photo of it to the page.
