Many of you may know that I was on the Kairos (http://kpmifoundation.org/index.php) team at CBCC.(http://www.doc.wa.gov/facilities/prison/cbcc/) It is quite amazing to see the joy grow over the 3 day retreat. Prison is a: very confined drab, repetitious depressing, place to spend time. Many of the people we had on the retreat are in prison for life if not life with out. We do not ask questions about time or crime, but it often comes out over the 50 hours + that we spend in the concentrated intense time with them. The inmates often look like cowed puppies on Thursday night. Sad, depressed, walled into self made cells of seclusion. The retreat includes team personal stories of there walk with Christ in a well orchestrated weaving of 15 talks and meditations (little lessons in Christianity). Music is a large part of the weekend and I was blessed with the opportunity to play bass and sing on the music team. The highlight of the weekend is the last event where the prisoners who completed the retreat are given there chance to tell their story. The joy and lifting of the Holy Spirit is evident in all the sharing. I am most blessed to be a part of this amazing ministry.
