I just got another banjo today and was wondering if anyone else has a morgan monroe cascade model mfb-5dx or has had an experience with them? This is the one i got or i think it is and the guy at the music store didnt have any info one it to tell me what it was. It seems quite a bit heavier than the other banjo i got and seems to be a fairly nice piece. Any help fellow bho's would be greatly appreciated. Happy pickn

I think some tone rings are steel, some are copper etc which could explain the weight. However.. I know little about banjos. There are lots of guys here who could help though. Try the banjo related forum, and see if someone there knows, and post a picture or two if you can - that always helps.
