Well, I did it.
I ignored the nerves and performed to a packed crowd in a local pub acoustic night last night. It was a real buzz once I got going and despite playing rubbish as I had five thumbs on each hand the crowd were really good.
If anybody else like me dreads that first performance I'd say just go with it, it's great fun that I'll repeat again soon.
Many thanks to Joe for the lessons so far, I wouldn't have dared do this before your help and patience.
Vern.

Like Columbus said about sailing from Europe to the Caribbean Islands:
The first time is the hardest.
Now, just keep on sharing the fun, and the audience will enjoy it, too.
