My friend Jim McLellan came by to share his latest ideas for playing single-string improv. on the tenor banjo.
The visit prompted me to spend some real quality time with this beautiful old 1925 B&D silver Bell #2.
This may be the COOLEST instrument I've ever owned....

It looks brand new. Never owned one, but have played a few plecs. They're the best! I love the flange.

The silver plating on this one is thick. It shines line a new coin. I think the "F" hole flanges are the best design ever.
This very unusual banjo has (factory original) engraved inlay like a few RARE #5 models from the same period. It is probably a one-off custom piece.
Best of all, this banjo has "the" classic silver bell sound.
