Even though I am confident my Pisgah banjo and Goodtimes will be recovered, I am still missing my banjos....

Since money is tight, have you thought about *making* a banjo out of a gas (e.g.) can and a stick? I mean it seriously, sort of therapy, like drawing a picture of a loved one. It is also a bit of a defiant gesture.

A good chance to get caught up on your listening to the music, until your banjos come home. Brad

Hey, I see your music interests. Though old time banjo playing is my primary interest, I really enjoy traditional Cajun music, where I move to Cajun triangle playing. That is why I started making the old school triangles, because nobody down there was making them anymore. Now its a worldwide business at a blistering sales pace of 1-2 per month. Of course there will never be a profit when you consider the cost of anvils, fuel, hammers, forge, leg vices, etc. but its my way to participate and provide this unique instrument. Well, one day I get an order from a dude who says he needs one for "forro" music. I ask, what the heck is that. Its Brazilian Folk Dance music. Its also big in Europe now with dance competitions and festivals. The primary percussion instrument for a forro band appears to be triangle, and these gusy are loving my old style pre-war hayrake tine triangles. Now I know Argentina is not Brazil, but you familiar with it. If not, go do some youtubing about it to occupy your mind. brad

rgoad is right, you arta just build you a banjo....and if you catch those polecats that stole your banjos, just stretch their hide over the head of the new banjo... :-D

ratler has a point. Nothing says "hands off" like a banjo head with sideburns on it.

Ratler - I think burglar hide is a little to thin to make a good banjer head with......might look good mounted on my wall though.
