Been getting the hang of frailing! After practicing for weeks at home with little progress, I finally got a bit lucky and found a very informative and talented instructor in Olympia, about an hour from my home. Very glad I was able to find someone to point me in the right direction. I'm the only person I know that 'plays' banjo around where I live, and, in fact, my banjo is the first one I've ever actually seen in person, much less played, lol. Vince has taught me a few songs, which I can fumble through kind of. "Sourwood Mountain", "Shady Grove", "Ida Red" and "Cripple Creek". The only one I'm decent at playing is Cripple Creek, so I uploaded an mp3 to get some input! Check it out and give me some pointers! I know I need them, lol.

Shane, We share the same model of banjo. I started 3 years ago in June. From ground zero. I really enjoy playing and have practiced and played often since then. If you enjoy it, I'm sure you'll keep on it. . Hope to see more song posts from you.
Regarding your review of the CC-OT, I'd agree (biased) that it is a great banjo.

Thanks for the replies. I love my cc-ot, but I'm hoping to make a banjo similar to an Enoch Tradesman over the summer. I've had the opportunity to play a few banjos and I really like the tradesman. Unfortunately, I can't really afford one, so looks like I'm going to try my hand at being a backyard luthier, lol.
