I had to stop telling Curtis how good his show was. His show at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum was really amazing. The sound was awesome, too. His Bart Reiter Special is a perfect instrument for him. His act has gotten so much more refined, and his songwriting keeps getting better and better.
We did a pass through Lansing to eat at El Azteco and swing through Elderly. Here's a picture of Curtis playing an old Luscomb that sounded really cool for his style.
The skin head and friction pegs would be a disaster for his touring work, but it was a very cool banjo. Here's a link to it:
