I was told by a professional Banjo player when you learn to play the banjo you can forget about your other instruments. Well I forgot most everything I was playing on guitar (songs that is) Although I do play the guitar (acoustic) for recording bluegrass stuff (G,C & D chords mostly). All my practice time goes into the banjo, I am a little over two years in now and I am very happy with my progress also I don't really listen to classic rock anymore but in the future I can use some of those songs and learn them on the banjo (Beatles, Stones, etc) when I get better, I love Bill Keith's version of No Expectations from the Rolling Stones. Years ago I played allot of Jimi Hendrix, but I can't deal with amps and stuff anymore. The last guitar songs I was working on was Neil Young (acoustic tunes from early seventies) and I can put banjo on some of that stuff down the road. Yes all my time and energy is going into my Bucket List Item (Bluegrass Banjo) I want to be a Banjo player and you know what I guess I am.
