Hello and welcome ,just a short introduction, this is my first ever blog so I am just finding my way round here.I have been playing my guitar and mandolin for many years.but have wanted a banjo for nearly as long I have been playing but have only now ,why its taken so long I can not say,but wish I did it long ago. the banjo that I brought is a five string open back and I am really enjoying learning to play it.Its a whole new ball game with the different picking styles etc.but getting there slowly.

Welcome at BHO. A good place, where We can learn a lot of each other. And banjo people all over the world, can be connected. Great.

thank you torben for your first reply, there is so much information here its hard to know where to start.I have been setting myself small tasks to try and complete but can be difficult with family commitments.once I get a bit more confident I will video myself and post it for people to give constructive advice as I am sure I will have picked some bad habites up cheers

Welcome my friend! This is a great place to pick up a lot of good information, and really good music as well. Look forward to hearing some of your music someday. I really enjoy listening to the members music and watching their videos.

Thanks tommyjo for your reply well today I have managed to do some more practise, their are several things I am finding hard that is trying to remember the picking sequence like the forward and backward rolls but today I did it ok,with a sigh of relief from wife ah ah even the mutt was pleased.I am really enjoying learning to play the banjo and I can not seem to put it down for long.
once I get more time I will upload a picture or two if my computer skills allow
