I've posted a recording of Sweet Sue. This song is one of my favs. It's such a good song, it almost plays itself! I blended a couple of different styles on this; mostly it's a jazz swing thing, but I started adding in some cross-picking stuff and kind of liked it. I recorded my Gibson PB6 using a stereo mic pair located near my head. I wanted to do a matched set of mics, but couldn't find my second Audix M3, so I ended up with an AKG C1000s and an Audix M3. I'd be interested to know how others are recording their banjos as well.
Sweet Sue is part of a CD I'm recording called Swing and Croon. Home the first one I recorded for that CD.
